The scroll hackathon was held virtually over the course of six weeks and entailed one of the most high quality produced combinations of lecture series, tutorials, feedback & responsiveness one could ask for.
Since its mainnet launch in October 2023, Scroll has become one of the top 10 L2 networks by size, with over $770 million in total value locked (TVL) across more than 85 decentralized finance (DeFi) projects.
Its zkEVM architecture offers compatibility with ethereum applications while enabling fast and cheap transactions. The importance of that cannot be understated!
"Amazon found that every 100ms of latency cost them 1% in sales. This translates to approximately $1.6 billion in lost revenue annually. Walmart observed that for every 1 second improvement in page load time, conversions increased by 2%. Real-time and low-latency are table stakes in web2 and once users experience it on-chain they also won't go back." nader
Scroll's vision for an Open Economy set the framework for developers to build applications that leverage Scroll's multi-layered architecture including its settlement layer (bridging to Ethereum), sequencing layer (for transaction execution), and proving layer (for generating zkEVM validity proofs) alongside the imperative to build in public, in the open, with real world use cases at the forefront.

My take: fun fact, my favourite opening for white ... the queen's gambit (popularised by the tv series). Sadly you need multiple people online to try this but it bodes well that we have builders in this arena. The parts i could try worked well. My take: this one is live in production, on mainnet. The ai agent chat interface is responsive and can help explain whats going on. There are over 120 commits so they've obviously had a good go. I "deployed" two agents but its unclear to whats extent that was just performative, the dashboard is hard coded currently. Nevertheless a strong effort.

I didn't end up submitting, something i rue now actually having gone through many of the above. But I didn't feel i'd attended enough of the events and/or that the app was sufficiently finished after six weeks.
That being said it was a great experience to be a part of nonethess.
SNEL
I built snel - a super lazy pointless agent who was originally meant to be multichain and enable a bunch of defi actions. But after circa 200 commits struggling with aggregators & bringing snel to life reliably across farcaster, my frontend and telegram we had a chat and she decided she is now going to be solely focused on stablecoins. On scroll here is what works currently
via the chat interface: transfers to another wallet, swaps & price checking (main tokens like ETH).
via telegram: chatting & price checking.
via farcaster: image generation.
What killed snel and I: DCA, bridging, limit orders, serverless functions.
Plan
An iteration rather than a full about face.
1. Input/share your wallet address with snel
2. she scans --> what % of your portfolio is degen vs stable
3. she enables stabling up easily e.g. sell 1% of xyz & put into stable of your choice (or range)
4. shares/aggregates data eg fear & greed index, real economy (forward & backward looking)
5. offers analysis + suggestions based on above to build wealth slowly but surely 🐌
Hopefully, on campus & live (to a high standard) across a number/variety of channels.
